What is Power Platform?

Power Platform is a system that enables users to do three key actions on data that help them drive business: gain insights from data (Analyze), drive intelligent business processes via apps they build (Act), and automate business processes (Automate). Power Platform includes of four products and they are Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Virtual Agents.

Power BI helps you analyze and visualize data on a unified platform with data from internal and external sources.
Power Apps helps you build and deploy customized apps that work across web and mobile, embedded or standalone, on any device.
Connectors are bridges that allow you to send information from your data source to your app or workflow and back.
Power Automate helps you create automation workflows, from simple to advanced scenarios.

The PL-900 is known as, the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals. This exam measures your ability to describe the business value of Power Platform; identify the core components of Power Platform; demonstrate the capabilities of Power BI; describe the capabilities of Power Apps; demonstrate the capabilities of Power Automate; and demonstrate the business value of Power Virtual Agents.

Skills measured are:

1. Describe the business value of Power Platform
2. Identify the core components of Power Platform
3. Demonstrate the capabilities of Power BI
4. Describe the capabilities of Power Apps
5. Demonstrate the capabilities of Power Automate
6. Demonstrate the business value of Power Virtual Agents
